Kindergarten In Depth

At Oakland Hebrew Day School, our educational approach is rooted in our Jewish values, creating a connection between students and their heritage and community even in the early days of their educational journey in Kindergarten.

We encourage curiosity and understanding in our students, celebrating conversations that further their understanding of key values like gratitude and respect. Our integrative approach to Judaic and general studies furthers this connection for our students, both now and in the years beyond.

Our Kindergarten Program

Our integrated approach blends emphasis on both Judaic and general studies. Click the boxes below to expand each to learn more about both parts of our curriculum.

  • Kindergarten General Studies

The Kindergarten General Studies program gives students the chance to develop their natural curiosity through observation, exploration and creative engagement. Learning across all areas incorporates a beautiful balance of student-centered and teacher-directed activities that inspire a sense of investment and pride in our young learners.

  • Kindergarten Judaic Studies

The Kindergarten Judaic Studies program builds a sense of excitement and investment that sets a foundation for all Jewish learning to come. Project-based learning in Kindergarten incorporates imaginative play, art, music, and games to explore Jewish rituals, Torah stories and Hebrew in a way that brings joy and connection.
