Online application process

1) Please submit an application online via our ParentLocker platform. This should be signed by each parent/guardian. Each application requires a $75 application fee. Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are due January 15, 2027.

Please reach out to our Admissions Director, Tamar Sandel, if you’re planning to submit an application after that date.

To submit an application you’ll need:

*  a copy of your child’s passport or birth certificate should be uploaded to your ParentLocker account when you submit an admissions application

*  a copy of your child’s immunization record. All immunizations must be up-to-date for admission to OHDS

* the email address of a current teacher who will be asked to complete and submit a Teacher Evaluation Form

2) Please submit each child’s transcripts from the last two academic years if you are submitting an application for Grades 1-8. You may provide us with a contact at the school or submit a form to release their student records.

3) OHDS is able to support a wide range of student needs. To ensure we can meet your child’s needs we ask you to submit documents such as occupational therapy or speech and language assessments, neuropsychological evaluation, educational psychologist recommendations, current or previous IEPs, and, or any other documentation of special learning needs, support plans, etc.

4) On-site tours are an important part of the application process. Seeing the school in person and getting to meet members of our team give prospective families  a good sense of our school, teachers, students and classroom. Introductory calls with our Director of Admissions are scheduled prior to each tour, or in lieu of a tour, pending a family’s location. In the interest of strong partnership, OHDS requests that all parents/guardians get a chance to speak with members of our admissions team.

Assessments

After you’ve submitted your documents, we will contact you to schedule an assessment and observation.

  • Bridge Kindergarten Observation: The admissions office will arrange with your child’s preschool or daycare to visit, so we can observe your child in a familiar environment. If your child is not in a preschool or daycare, we will arrange to visit him/her at home.

  • Kindergarten Observation and Assessment: The Kindergarten observation and assessment usually takes place on a Sunday morning in February. Your child will be invited for a playtime observation and assessment. An assessment on campus may be scheduled during regular school hours on an alternate date if you cannot come that day. We may also request to observe your child in his/her current school environment.

  • Grades 1-8 School Visit and Assessment: The admissions office will schedule a time to have your child visit OHDS during upcoming school days. The duration will vary, but we ask for two consecutive days. During your child’s visit s/he will shadow a fellow student in their current grade and meet with members of the faculty for assessments in English, math, and Hebrew (where applicable).
