OHDS students are offered a variety of specialty classes aimed at deepening their personal growth and appreciation for the world around them.

• In Computer Lab students learn mastery of the keyboard, typing, and searching the internet as well as advanced applications using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

• The comprehensive Art program combines the knowledge, imagination, and evaluative factors of creativity, for a productive pattern of growth in perception, critical thinking, valuing, and art skills.
  

• The Physical Education program focuses on motor skills and movement knowledge, self-image and personal development, and social development.
  

• Our Music program integrates music into the classroom curriculum emphasizing the connection between music and math, reading literacy, science, art and history. Using singing, recorder playing and instrumental performance, the program teaches the rudiments of music as well as composition and music appreciation.

"OHDS made me consciously want to pursue learning and created a warm, loving atmosphere that helped me develop my interests, particularly those of creative writing, art, theater and history. I am now departing off to Sarah Lawrence College in New York where I will pursue my interests in the arts and develop further passions along the way, and I have OHDS in part to thank for these future adventures in learning."
