The faculty of Oakland Hebrew Day School is comprised of professionals who reflect upon their practice and are excited to help young people learn. They are experts in their respective disciplines and in meeting the needs of individual learners. Teachers at each grade level are organized into teams across disciplines to support dialogue and the development of a coherent and thoughtful curriculum.
Oakland Hebrew Day School is committed to the development of a professional learning community that supports the continuing growth of each teacher. By encouraging collaboration among faculty, and incorporating professional development themes such as "Writing Across the Curriculum" and "Team-Work & Team-Play" into our yearly academic agenda, we seek to ensure the highest quality instruction for our students.
"OHDS taught me the importance of balancing my pursuit of personal excellence with my role as a member of both the Jewish and world communities. As I begin my second year of college, I find that I have increasing opportunities to actualize this lesson. I am grateful for the living examples that were my teachers at OHDS. Thank you!"
Etana Zack, alumna, first graduating class of OHDS
