Bruria Rozen Bruria Rozen has been teaching 1st Grade General Studies since she began working in OHDS in 2004. She received her BA in elementary education from Stern College in New York. Bruria also earned her double Masters in General and Special Education, with a focus on severe disabilities and deaf blindness at Hunter College in New York City. Before moving out to California, Bruria worked for six summers with adults and children with mental and physical disabilities. These summer experiences showed Bruria that education was a career that she was interested and excited about. Bruria continued her work with adults with mental and physical disabilities during the year, working in homes for adults with mental disabilities on the weekends. During this time, Bruria had the opportunity to create programs and activities for the clients. While working on her Masters, Bruria worked with preschool-aged children diagnosed with Autism. It was from all these amazing experiences that Bruria learned to understand the meaning of the word “greatness”. Bruria’s experiences continue to shape her way of teaching to this very day. |
