Carolyn Pines Carolyn Pines began teaching in OHDS in 2005 and is delighted to be a part of the warm and caring community at Oakland Hebrew Day School, teaching 3rd grade General Studies. In the past, she taught 3rd grade General Studies and 6th and 7th grade English. She earned her multiple subjects and supplementary single subject (English) teaching credentials at Mills College in 2002 and subsequently taught at elementary and middle schools in the Oakland and San Lorenzo Unified School Districts. Prior to pursuing a teaching career, Carolyn worked as administrator for Congregation Beth Sholom in San Francisco and Temple Beth Abraham in Oakland. She grew up in New York, and before relocating to the Bay Area worked at Simon & Schuster Publishers as a subsidiary rights associate and Merrill Lynch as a marketing vice president. Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama from Vassar College and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theater from Trinity University’s Dallas Theater Center. She lives in Oakland with her partner, a social worker/administrator, and their two daughters. |
