Alicia Kafin
Resource Room, General Studies

Throughout her years of teaching, Alicia Kafin, General Studies Resource Teacher, has consistently worked to support student diversity. Alicia finds joy in helping students discover the ways in which they learn best, which is one of the reasons she is so happy to be a part of the Resource Team at OHDS since 2002. Alicia began her teaching career as an Outdoor Ed. Instructor. She then moved into CA public school as a bilingual teacher for K, 1stand 2nd grades. Alicia left classroom teaching to be a stay-at-home-parent, and she did private tutoring for two years.  During that time, Alicia realized she wanted the opportunity to continue specializing in intervention teaching. She was delighted to take the position as Resource Teacher for General Studies and support students in all grade levels. Alicia holds a BA in Social Sciences with a minor in Education from U.C. Berkeley, a bilingual teaching credential from Cal State University, Humboldt, and a Reading Specialist Certificate from U.C. Berkeley.  Alicia is honored to continue as both a parent of OHDS students and a member of the OHDS staff.
