Thank you for your interest in Oakland Hebrew Day School. As you embark on your school search, I look forward to sharing with you all that OHDS has to offer your child, as well as your entire family. OHDS families come from near and far for a one-of-a-kind Jewish education. From Pleasanton to Vallejo, Contra Costa County to San Francisco and everywhere in between, OHDS is a destination for families seeking an unparalleled Jewish educational experience.

OHDS families span the spectrum of affiliation and observance. We are an inclusive community that prides itself on making every Jewish family feel welcome. The quilt of our community is woven with tradition, heritage and a common goal to provide our students with a superior Jewish education.

An OHDS education includes the study of Torah, Hebrew as a spoken language, Jewish History and our homeland Israel. It also includes academic excellence in Math, Science, Literature and Social Studies just to name a few. Our focus is on teaching to the whole child. To this end, the Specialties - Art, Physical Education, Computers, Performing Arts and Library - are also an important part of the OHDS education.
