Dear Parent,
Thank you for your interest in Oakland Hebrew Day School. As you embark on your school search, I look forward to sharing with you all that OHDS has to offer your child, as well as your entire family. The documents linked below comprise a brief introduction to our school and community. This information only brushes the surface of OHDS.
OHDS families come from near and far for a one-of-a-kind Jewish education. From Pleasanton to Vallejo, Contra Costa County to San Francisco and everywhere in between, OHDS is a destination for families seeking an unparalleled Jewish educational experience.
OHDS families span the spectrum of affiliation and observance. We are an inclusive community that prides itself on making every Jewish family feel welcome. The quilt of our community is woven with tradition, heritage and a common goal to provide our students with a superior Jewish education.
An OHDS education includes the study of Torah, Hebrew as a spoken language, Jewish History and our homeland Israel. It also includes academic excellence in Math, Science, Literature and Social Studies just to name a few.
Feel free to call me directly at 510-531-8600 ext. 26 or email me at mmarcus@ohds.org if you have any questions regarding our school and to schedule a time to visit the OHDS campus.
B'shalom,

"My family and I continue to take great pride in the accomplishments of OHDS. The most endearing one being the strong and sustaining education that our daughters received, including their love for reading, learning, word inquiry, and social justice. OHDS also provided our children with a seamless merger of Jewish and general studies in a positive and challenging academic environment. I believe that being a part of OHDS was one of the greatest opportunities of my rabbinic career."

and OHDS Founding Board member
